Definition and Purpose
Food grade lubricants are substances certified by NSF International for use in food and beverage, personal care product, and pharmaceutical processing applications. These lubricants are designed to meet strict safety standards, including being colorless, odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. They are categorized based on their potential for incidental food contact, with H1 lubricants certified for incidental contact and H2 lubricants restricted to applications where food contact does not occur.
