Definition and Purpose
ATIEL, or the Technical Association of the European Lubricants Industry, is a nonprofit organization that represents major European and international engine oil manufacturers and marketers. Its primary role is to foster consensus on essential technical, stewardship, and sustainability issues within the lubricants industry. ATIEL is particularly focused on the performance of engine oils, addressing aspects such as wear protection, deposit control, fuel economy, and the reduction of CO2 emissions.
